About Barcelona Insider

Barcelona Insider helps you plan a smarter Barcelona trip.

That’s exactly what this site helps you do.

You will find clear itineraries, honest travel tips, neighborhood guides, and practical advice, so you spend less time planning and more time enjoying the city.

And if you want a plan built specifically for your trip, you can also get a custom Barcelona itinerary.

About Me

About Naddya - at Plaza Catalunya

Hi, I’m Naddya!

I help independent travelers like you plan a better Barcelona trip. My advice has helped young adults, couples, families, groups of friends, and mature travelers make the most of their time in the city.

I’m a Bulgarian traveler who first visited Barcelona in 2018.

It was love at first sight. The city’s vibrant history, stunning architecture, and unique vibe stole my heart.

Since then, I have spent several months each year living in the city.

Not visiting it. Living in it.

That means I experience Barcelona the way locals do. I shop in neighborhood markets, celebrate local festivals, and return to the same cafés and restaurants again and again.

Learning the City from the Inside

In 2022, I took a Spanish language course in Barcelona.

I expected to improve my Spanish. What actually happened was that the city opened up in a completely different way.

I discovered hidden corners that don’t appear in any guidebook.

Suddenly, I could talk to market vendors in La Boqueria. I could ask restaurant owners about their recommendations. I could join conversations during neighborhood festivals.

The language wasn’t just a skill. It was a key that opened many doors.

You start seeing a city differently when you can speak with the people who live there.

Years of First-Hand Experience and Real Local Knowledge

Over the years, I have explored Barcelona across different seasons and neighborhoods.

I have celebrated La Mercè, Sant Joan, and Festa Major de Gràcia, plus dozens of smaller neighborhood celebrations that most visitors never hear about.

I’ve eaten my way through every district, from traditional bodegas in Sant Antoni to craft beer pubs in Poblenou.

I’ve done the tourist highlights, the off-the-beaten-path, and everything in between, many times.

I also run two other travel sites — NTripping.com and 33 Travel Tips.

I’ve also traveled to 51 countries, on weekend breaks, two-week vacations, and months at a time. This means I understand what it takes to plan a trip well, and what goes wrong when planning falls short.

In the past, I worked as a Software Tester and QA Engineer. That mindset carries over. I research obsessively, stress-test my recommendations, and don’t publish anything I haven’t personally verified.

Barcelona-Insider.com exists because good travel advice is rare. Most of what you’ll find online is either surface-level or written by someone who spent a long weekend in a destination and called it expertise.

Why I Started Offering Custom Itineraries

Planning a Barcelona trip sounds easy at first.

Then you open a few travel blogs.

One article says visit Park Güell first. Another says go in the afternoon. Restaurant lists repeat the same tourist spots. Opening hours are outdated. Ticket slots sell out faster than expected.

So, you end up spending 30 hours or more researching.

And even then, you’re not fully confident about your plan.

I’m here to solve this.
